The Elysium Codex
A blue, leather-bound tome with unrecognizable writing embossed on the cover.
In the Elysian Language, the cover and title page read, “Introduction to Sorcery, volume 1”.
Benefit. Anyone who reads this tome learns the Elysian language. If the reader is a Wizard, they also gain one level.
After being read, the tome teleports to a far-flung location.
The Elysium Grimoires
A blue, leather-bound tome with unrecognizable writing embossed on the cover.
In the Elysian Language, the cover and title page read, “Introduction to Sorcery, volume X”, where X is a number from 2 to 21.
Benefit. Each Elysium Grimoire contains wizard spells written in the Elysian language. Roll 1d6 for the Tier (re-roll 6), then 3d12 for the three spells contained therein (re-roll duplicates).
After a reader has translated, learned, or cast all spells, the grimoire teleports to a far-flung location.
Curse. One cannot learn or cast spells from an Elysium Grimoire unless one knows the Elysian language.
