Peacekeeping Fleet Ship Classes

Technological Age: Early Galactic

These ships are exclusive to the Peacekeeping Fleet.

Fighter

This ship’s powerful thrusters and gravitic compensators mark this model as a starfighter with eventual civilian uses. It consists mainly of a spherical cockpit in a reinforced transparent aluminum bubble with holographic heads-up displays, four multidirectional ion thrusters, and a main fusion thruster toward the rear. While the cockpit is pressurized with a day’s worth of breathable atmosphere, the pilot and gunner usually wear spacesuits just in case.

Monthly Cost: 7200 + (600 - 2500) = 5300 Cr

Gunship

Unapologetically a ship of war, a Gunship carries a crew of four: a pilot, a gunner, a sensor operator, and an engineer.

Monthly Cost: 39,000 Cr

Torpedo Boat

Larger than a Gunship, a Torpedo Boat carries a crew of ten: a captain, two pilots, four gunners, two sensor operators, and two engineers. It carries torpedos, drones, mines, and anti-torpedo countermeasures.

Monthly Cost: 98,000 Cr

Anti-Torpedo Countermeasure

An anti-torpedo countermeasure attempts to lure a torpedo into exploding prematurely as if it hit a ship.

The Sensor Operators of each ship have a brief contest of Technical skills; if the countermeasure’s operator wins, the torpedo detonates with the countermeasure. If not, the countermeasure deactivates and the torpedo continues onward.

Drone

A drone is a remote-controlled robot that can do other things to a ship besides explode, e.g. silently examine the ship, sabotage the ship, deliver a message when comm channels are closed.

The Sensor Operator controls the Drone. It has one manipulator arm.

Mine

A mine stays still until it detects a ship within range, then it explodes like a Torpedo. It requires no sensor lock, just proximity.

A mine requires no Sensor Lock, but it may explode off target or at the wrong target. The Sensor Operator must roll to detect the mine, then a Gunner must shoot the mine.

Corvette

Somewhere between a Torpedo Boat and a Light Cruiser lies the Corvette, a sleek patrol ship with formidable armaments.

Monthly Cost: 98,000 + (64,000 - 30,000) = 132,000 Cr

Light Cruiser

While superficially resembling the Explorer class, a Light Cruiser maximizes guns and armor over sensor arrays and accomodations. It’s clearly a ship that will not start a fight but aims to finish it.

Cruiser 1 yr 29/33 50 32 8d6 +2

Heavy Cruiser

Larger than a light cruiser, the heavy cruiser will start a fight and win it. Its offensive and defensive capabilities rival those of the Draconian Empire’s best ships.

Battle Cruiser

The newest addition to the Peacekeeping Fleet, this behemoth is surprisingly agile. Its offensive and defensive capabilites rival the next three largest ships combined.

Carrier

The bulk of a Carrier’s space is dedicated to fighter bays, gunship bays, and the maintenance facilities both require. Unlike sea-based carriers, space carriers can open all bay doors at once and launch an entire wave simultaneously. (Getting them all back in, alas, takes a little longer.)
