Void Raider Articles of Agreement

translated from Void Glyphs by an anonymous sage

  1. All hail the Void King! All glory to the Void King!

  2. By birth into this tribe, we solemnly agree to abide by the terms of these articles.

  3. Every tribesman1 shall have their say in affairs of importance to the tribe. Every warrior has a vote in affairs of importance to the tribe. Should the vote be tied, the [Void] Lord1 shall break the tie.

  4. Should a dispute arise between two warriors, they shall duel until one surrenders or the Lord halts the fight. Should a dispute arise between any two others, they shall both come before the Lord and abide by their verdict.

  5. No tribesman shall defraud the Quartermaster of more than their due, nor shall the Quartermaster deny a tribesman in good standing their due.

  6. While the Lord is absent the Castellan rules the base in their stead. All tribesmen shall obey the Castellan as if they were Lord.

  7. All blades and raycasters must be kept clean and fit for service.

  8. The spoils of raids shall be split thus: six shares to the [Void] Lord, four shares to the Quartermaster, three shares to the Castellan, three shares for the Raid Leader, two shares for each warrior on the raid, one share for each Tech, Arcanist, or Psion.

  9. If any shall be slain during a Raid and unable to be revived, their shares shall be split among the people of the Base not present in the raid. Should any merely lose a limb or an eye, the Biotech shall replace it forthwith.

  10. If any rival tribe demand parley, the Lords of both tribes shall meet on neutral ground, with not more than three warriors on each side.

  11. Should a Lord be slain, the Castellan shall rule until the warriors elect a new Lord. Should any other officer be slain, the Lord shall appoint another.

  12. Should a warrior be credibly charged with cowardice, the Lord shall strip them of rank and send them to the Quartermaster to make such use of them as they can. Should the Quartermaster find no use for them, they should send them down to the Necrotechs.

  13. Should a tribesman be credibly charged with dereliction of duty, the Lord shall cast them from the tribe and treat them like any invader: thrall, target practice, or parts, as the techs require.

  14. Should any tribesman violate these articles, they shall be taken outside the base and left without air until dead.

  15. We, still living, commit our names to this agreement.

[list of names redacted]

  1. In Voidspeech “Void Lord”, “tribesmen”, etc. are gender-less. Void Raiders do not discriminate based on sex or gender, save when a female is with child. All must work; all must serve the tribe. Only Voidborn of the tribe can be trusted. And so on. ↩︎ ↩︎
